Testimonials from visiting Instructors:

“…I was delighted with my teaching experience for the Coastal Beading Society.
The venue worked well, and all arrangements went as planned.
A plus was their graciousness, and how much fun we all had…” — Diane Fitzgerald

“…One of the most fun groups I have ever taught was the Savannah (Coastal) Bead Society.
Those  gals are very talented, extremely eager to adventure into new avenues of beading,
and not afraid to do so. I loved hanging out with this group and didn’t want to go home!”
—Sherry Serafini

Coastal Bead Society would like to introduce you to our beautiful area -
We love learning new things and hosting teachers!

Diane Fitzgerald, Sherry Serafini, & Kim Stathis among others have graced us with their knowledge, and fallen in love with our area’s charm & hospitality. Coastal Bead Society boasts approx 80-100 members from both South Carolina and Georgia, and meets monthly in Savannah, GA - the jewel of the South.

We have a great group of beaders, from beginners to highly advanced artisans looking to round out their skill sets. Unique antique stores, fiber stores, a strong bead society, along with a well-known art school, have given Coastal Bead Society’s members loads of education and talent…and a hunger for continued learning. We were even the featured exhibitors in Savannah’s SPACE Gallery in December 2016.

Want to teach here yet? :) No?
Well, read on!

Savannah is also wonderfully located for national teachers visiting the southeast, too. We are 6 hours from Atlanta, 6 hours from Sarasota, only from Orlando, and 2 from Jacksonville. If you are planning a teaching trip, consider continuing on to our area!

Now, we ARE a little biased about how beautiful this area is - after all, we LIVE here because of it! But we’d love to share it with you, too.

Savannah, Hilton Head and Tybee Island offer some of the most beautiful, inspiring natural surroundings & wildlife, and there’s so much to do and see here, you might just like to “c’mon down & set a spell”!

Hollywood sure knows the secret of Savannah & the Low Country - many movies have been shot here and in the surrounding area… Forrest Gump, The Prince of Tides, The Conspirator, The Last Song (Nicolas Sparks), Cape Fear (twice!), The Gift, The Legend of Bagger Vance, Glory, and - of course - Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil! Just to highlight a few… :)

Miles of beaches, kayaking tours, dolphin watching, fresh local seafood, history,  a thriving artist / entertainment community, and a music scene- all here to enjoy, once class is done.

Stroll through the historic squares, go out for a night on the town, catch an art exhibit put on by the students from SCAD… Or have dinner at Paula Deen’s restaurant, Lady & Sons! Re-live "Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil" and catch The Lady Chablis show... Heck, you can even take a “Ghost Tour”, right though the heart of Savannah’s haunted history, if you like!

Elegant horse drawn carriages, succulent fresh shrimp and oysters, the best pralines you’ve ever tasted, and heavenly surroundings - with eager to learn students - what’s not to love?

Savannah is one of the oldest cities in the US, steeped in culture, history and dripping with antebellum beauty & charm. You’ll be enchanted with the graceful oaks draped in spanish moss, the amazing historic architecture, and the sounds of street musicians playing as you stroll your way past unique shops, wonderful dining, and landmarks where history itself shaped our nation.

An abundance of local attractions, events, and scenery attract thousands of visitors to Savannah each year. Did you know that our Jazz Festival and St. Patty’s Day Celebration are world famous?

Come see why! After class is done, you’ll want to explore the beauty and fun this area has to offer. You might even want to come back :) There’s tons to do and see!

And you’ll just ADORE our classroom facility - Sherry S. told us it was the prettiest she’d ever taught in! Graciously appointed with Southern elegance, in overstuffed furniture, oversized tables, and skylights, it is truly part of the experience. A full kitchen is available
